Style Wars - Aimie and Carl

MOST women would be grateful if their other half knew their dress size let alone their fashion sense.

But every week we challenge one brave woman to let her partner dress her.

At the end of this article are two sets of pictures of Aimie in different outfits. Can you guess which set of outfits Carl chose? Leave you answer in the form at the end.

AIMIE SAYS:

“I’m used to Carl complaining and waiting outside the shops whenever we go shopping together, so to have him actually choosing clothes for me was a little odd. I can only ever usually get him into around two stores before he complains (typical man).

“I was really surprised by how well he did today. Before today I never trusted him as I consider myself quite fussy. He did once buy me some amazing designer heels – but he only knew what ones to buy because I told him I wanted them!

“He chose clothes that I would have never picked myself, but it has certainly made me think differently. I guess another set of eyes and opinion on something can be a really good thing as it takes you out of your comfort zone…in a good way.

“Carl generally likes clothes that show off the figure (like all men), so when I wear anything revealing he generally has a little twinkle in his eye! I’m quite girly so I mainly wear pretty dresses and anything sparkly. I tend to stay away from jeans because they can make you look the same every day. I shop on eBay mainly because you can get items for a lot cheaper than on the high street meaning that you can get more for your money. I really like having colour in my wardrobe, so bright neon colours and pastel shades I love right now – I adore the way Cheryl Cole and Victoria Beckham dress too.

“I would definitely trust Carl to go out and buy clothes for me now…I don’t think I’d let him get a whole new wardrobe for me just yet though. He most definitely knows more than he lets on when it comes to what I like and what suits me. I’ve learnt that sometimes a man’s opinion is a good thing, and this experience has shown me a whole new side to Carl.”

CARL SAYS:

“I thought today went well and found the challenge relatively easy. When I was choosing the outfits for Aimie I felt confident in myself and I chose what I thought would look nice on her…and I was right!

“Judging by her facial expression, I don’t think Aimie liked my choices quite as much as I did though. But she changed her mind when she actually put it on. Success! I did agree that the clothes looked much better when she was actually wearing them. I don’t think you can ever tell what something’s going to look like when it’s hanging up.

“I’ve never bought her clothes before – just a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes that she nagged me for for months. Generally, I never really get involved when Aimie is shopping – you can never influence a magpie – if something is shiny that you can guarantee she’ll want it no matter what I say. I’m brutally truthful sometimes; it’s funny because she won’t talk to me after.

“I don’t like it when she wears anything made out of sequins or itchy material – these are both very annoying. I prefer it when she shops alone too.

“This experience has taught me that I’m better at choosing clothes for Aimie than she is. I’ve also learnt that if I’m forced to I’m actually pretty good at shopping. I still don’t like it though.”
